A PERFECT HEART

A PERFECT HEART
1 Chronicles 28:9 KJV
And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
Dearest Ladies,
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
You are tremendous! You are terrific! You are talented!
Are you glorifying God, edifying your fellow Christian brethren and fulfilling your purpose with your God-given talents? Step 1 is ALWAYS a matter of the heart. Whether you are on target or off target, the focus of your heart is the root of your choices. A perfect heart is essential to earnestly follow God, to humbly serve others, and to live a happy, healthy, and hearty life. May you serve God with a perfect heart.
Solomon, the son of David, was young and inexperienced when he was anointed King of Israel. He could have easily desired to flatter himself with quests for riches, wealth, honor, vengeance on his enemies, and longevity. But instead, He asked God for wisdom and knowledge to effectively reign in his father's stead "over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude," (1 Chron 1:9 KJV).
Before dying, David admonished Solomon to diligently seek God and serve Him with a perfect heart and a willing mind. Solomon obediently followed his father's mandate. As a new king, Solomon sought the interests of God and the Children of Israel before his own interests. Solomon's selflessness pleased God. In return, Solomon was surely blessed with a wise heart to serve God and the Israelties. But, God also blessed him above and beyond his desire. "And God said to Solomon, Because this [the will of God] was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayst judge, over whom I have made thee King: WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE IS GRANTED UNTO THEE; AND I WILL GIVE THEE RICHES, AND WEALTH, AND HONOUR, SUCH AS NONE OF THE KINGS HAVE HAD THAT HAVE BEEN BEFORE THEE, NEITHER SHALL THERE ANY AFTER THEE HAVE THE LIKE," (1 Chronicles 1:11-12 KJV).
Ladies, there is an undeniable, indescribable benefit of serving God with a perfect heart. When we keep God and His kingdom FIRST, then God is faithful to provide us with resources to fulfill His will: in His kingdom and in our personal lives. God is not a man that He should lie. He is not slack in keeping His promises. Whatever we need, the Lord alone is able to provide. Matthew 6: 33 (KJV) reads, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things [food, drink, clothing] shall be added unto to you.
Dearest Sisters, we constantly have to check the condition of our hearts. The desire of our heart is the spiritual equivalent to our physiological blood pressure. In order to run a successful Christian race, we have to have a perfect heart unto God. Similarly, we need a regulated blood pressure to run a marathon. We can rest assure that when our hearts stay anchored in God's will and word then we will advance God's kingdom and reap myriad, tangible benefits in our lives and the lives of our children.
Do you do things for God's praise or people's praise? Do you do things that project a socially pleasing but false image of you and your family? Are you overly concerned with following God's will for your life or do you succumb to the the pressures of pop culture? Do you seek God for direction or Oprah's New Age Life Classes?
Remember, a perfect heart is not evidenced by being perfect. No one is or ever was perfect except Christ. However, a perfect heart is found in those that walk closely with God, that hate what God hates and loves what He loves, that humbly strive to honor God in heart and mind, and that quickly repent of sin.
Oh God in Heaven, please give us perfect hearts and willing minds to faithfully and truthfully serve you all of our days. In Jesus' name, AMEN!
Love and blessings
Hugs
